Andrew has served with VRCC since April of 2001. He is a graduate of Abilene Christian University (class of 1999). He grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado before moving to Texas for college. He and his wife Beri enjoy sports, traveling, and kicking it with the youth!

Traveling Makes You Tired |

Why is it that we get so tired when we travel? How can sitting, in a seat on a plane or train, while someone else does all the work, sap every bit of energy? Recently, I did a bit of traveling, both of the flying variety and on the rails, and I found out something. No matter how much you sleep on these trips, you arrive exhausted. Also, the trip home is more exhausting than any other. But, all this travel led me to some conclusions about myself.

In a few weeks one of our normal summer events will rear it's head, for some it will once again be a time of toil and sweat. I am referring to the annual Youth Group Yard Sale.

The idea of a leader conjures images of strong, vocal people who disseminate orders to be followed and never seem to get their hands dirty. They lead not from the front lines, but from some protected position far away from the actual work. They lead with words and ideas.
